How to file
1. Book the appointment first — «Cita Previa de Extranjería» is a separate service and slots are the usual bottleneck
2. Pay the fee through «Pago de tasas» before the appointment where the procedure requires it
3. Where the procedure allows it, submit the application and documents electronically through MERCURIO instead of attending in person
4. Track the file with «Estado de tramitación»
5. Use «Consultas dirigidas» to put a question to the provincial immigration office handling your file
6. Employers recruiting under collective schemes use GECCO, which is a separate route from an individual application
