Where our data comes from, the licence each source carries, and how we attribute it.
Data without guarantee — always verify against the official source before relying on it.
How we source data
We prefer official government and copyright-exempt sources, and aggregate, filter and explain public information — we do not claim to be an official body. We generally use individual factual values (rates, dates, official requirements), while avoiding reproduction of protected editorial expression, proprietary compilations and ranking datasets. Where a source needs attribution (e.g. Creative Commons), we credit it below and link the licence. Proprietary rankings (QS, Henley, U.S. News) are not reproduced — we link out to the publisher instead.

Why don't you show QS or Henley ranking numbers?
Those rankings are proprietary products of their publishers and are not derived from official government data. We link out to the publisher rather than reproduce their figures, and build our own value on official public sources instead.
