Oman has no dedicated AI law in force. AI systems fall under existing law — above all the Personal Data Protection Law for any processing of personal data, which requires a lawful basis, restricts transfers abroad and makes breaches reportable within 72 hours — together with cybercrime, consumer-protection and sector rules such as those of the Central Bank of Oman for banks. Check for new guidance from the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology before deploying AI that handles personal data.
