How to file
- Check you are eligible — visa-waiver nationals, Australian permanent residents, transit and cruise passengers
- Make sure your passport is valid for at least 3 months beyond your intended departure
- Have your passport, a photo, proof of funds and an onward ticket ready
- Request it in the official app (up to 10 people at once) or on the web form (one person at a time)
- Pay the fee, from NZD 17
- Allow up to 72 hours for a decision and watch for the confirmation email
- It stays valid 2 years (5 for crew); stays are up to 3 months per visit, 6 for UK citizens
