City Overview
Lijiang, in northwestern Yunnan, is world-famous for its Old Town (World Heritage) and Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and is the center of Naxi Dongba culture. Its canal-laced old town, snow mountain and Tea-Horse Road draw many domestic and international tourists; tourism is the pillar. At ~2,400 m, it is mild and sunny. Cost of living is low and the pace relaxed — a popular slow-living and wellness destination.
