City Overview
Lanzhou is Gansu’s capital and a key center of Northwest China, a ribbon city where the Yellow River flows between two mountains. A historic Silk Road town, it has a strong base in petrochemicals, equipment manufacturing and new materials. Lanzhou beef noodles are famous nationwide. Cost of living and housing are low; it is the transport gateway to the Hexi Corridor and the Northwest, with a dry climate.
