City Overview
Dali, in western Yunnan, is the seat of the Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, world-famous for the Cangshan-Erhai scenery, with distinctive Bai culture (the March Fair, tie-dye, Bai courtyard houses). Mild and spring-like year-round, its old town and Xizhou/Shuanglang draw many domestic and international tourists and "slow-living" residents — a popular slow-living and wellness destination. Cost of living is low and the pace relaxed, at ~2,000 m.
