City Overview
Yueyang, in northern Hunan where Dongting Lake meets the Yangtze, is Hunan’s only Yangtze port city — "the finest waters under heaven at Dongting, the finest tower under heaven at Yueyang." The Yueyang Tower and Junshan Island are world-famous; petrochemicals (Baling Petrochemical), paper and food industries are strong. Cost of living and housing are low; a land of fish and rice rich in aquaculture, it is a northern-Hunan gateway and key middle-Yangtze node, with a mild climate.
