Lianyungang
City Overview
Lianyungang, at the northeastern tip of Jiangsu on the Yellow Sea, is the eastern bridgehead of the New Eurasian Land Bridge and a key Belt-and-Road port (Lianyungang Port). Petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals (Hengrui, Kanion — "China’s medicine port") and new materials are strong. Mount Huaguo (the inspiration for Journey to the West) and seaside scenery are famous. Cost of living and housing are low; combining a seaport with mountain-and-sea views and a mild climate, it is the coastal center of northern Jiangsu.
